Flakes - Same - 1981

A classic album, on Salsoul, released in 1981.

Flakes was a bunch of great musicians...

First of all, it was produced and arranged by Mel Bolton (see Mighty Fire), and Dave Blumberg (Diana Ross, Stargard, The Supreme) was the strings section leader.

The great Fred Weisley was on the Horns section with Harry Kim (Spank, Bobby Womack, Gil Scott-Heron)

On the bass David Shields (The Blackbyrds, Gladys Knight, Bobby Womack) and James Jamerson Junior (Chanson, Crusaders, Woods Empire ans so many more).

The back vocals are Clydene Jackson (Gil Scott-Heron, Anita Baker, Idris Muhammad), The Waters sisters (Santana, Cuba Gooding George Duke).

This LP contains some excellent tracks like "Sugar frosted lover", "Take It To The Max" and "No One (Can Love You Like I Do)"

Not expensive in vinyl, it can be easily found on CD too.

Well, Flakes is an highly recommended record, a great classic !
